Our campaign training classes cover every stage of a political campaign, from registering as a candidate to GOTV and Election Day.

 

The classes cover topics in campaign management, communications, voter outreach, digital operations, finance, field organizing, getting on the ballot, and legal compliance.

 

Our instructors are selected for their experience in Virginia’s 5th and 7th Congressional Districts, where Democratic victories are hardwon and success demands exemplary effort.

 

Classes occur in four three-hour sessions, held weekly on Saturday mornings, with a light lunch served between classes. 

 

All classes are held at City Space, a conference facility on Charlottesville’s Historic Downtown Mall.  The classes are sponsored by the Democratic Road Forward PAC in partnership with the Charlottesville and Albemarle County Democratic Committees and are free to the participants.

 

 Academy schedules are designed for maximum convenience to the candidates and are synchronized with Virginia election cycles. The training sessions begin in Late Spring (May) in Even-numbered years and Late Winter (February or March) in Odd-numbered years.
