2017 Candidate Development Academy at the Information Session was a huge success!

Join the Resistance! Arm yourself with the knowledge and skills you need to answer President Obama’s call to be “guardians of democracy”!

Attend the Road Forward PAC’s Candidate Development Academy. The Academy was developed in 2014 as a free program to train Democrats in the greater Charlottesville-Albemarle region and throughout Virginia’s 5th District to serve capably in office and to be effective in political campaigns, advocacy groups, and related non-profits.

There are two tracks to the academy: the Campaign Training Track and the Understanding Government Track.

CAMPAIGN TRAINING TRACK [Campaign Finance  and  Resources]
February 25 (use the navigation bar above for more information about these programs)
The 2017 Campaign Training Track will consist of professionally-produced videos from the 2014 and 2016 Candidate Development Academy. Classes will be held on Saturdays, February 11, 18 and 25, from 9am – 12:30 pm with coffee, light breakfast items, snacks, and beverages provided. Classes are held in the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities Conference Center at 145 Ednam Drive, Charlottesville, VA. All classes are free and feature presentations by campaign professionals and elected officials with extensive experience in political campaigns and political activism. Q & A will follow the showing of each video. You do not have to attend all classes to remain in good standing.

Beginning in March
The 2017 Understanding Government Track will consist of live presentations by individuals with extensive experience in government and elective office. Topics will include presentations on local government, the Virginia Commonwealth, regionalism, land use and zoning, public education, criminal justice and the court system, and more. Watch this website or join our mailing list for announcements of upcoming Understanding Government Track events.
